Working with Local Government

Local government can reduce carbon emissions by working with the Energy Saving Trust advice centre Wales

The Energy Saving Trust advice centre Wales has a dedicated team providing free support to local government.

Our aim is to help local authorities develop a strategic approach to sustainable energy across all government services and activities. We assist local authorities in making carbon savings from housing, vehicle fleets and within the wider community.

Our Work includes

  • One-to-one support for local authorities to help reduce carbon emissions within local authority areas and demonstrate local leadership in addressing climate change
  • Awareness raising events for councillors and senior staff
  • Participating in policy development, consultation and partnership activity
  • Supporting project development, including facilitation and securing funding
  • Ensuring opportunities to improve energy efficiency in the housing stock transfer process are realised
  • Signposting to other sources of Energy Saving Trust support, including the Practical Help and Best Practice programmes
